Pastor Shane and his wife, Maggie, have been married for over 25 years and live in Watkinsville, GA. Shane has been pastoring in North Georgia for almost 20 years. They have three daughter and two dogs, and they love ministering to the growing community of Dove Creek and surrounding areas.
We believe that God's will for all people is to, first, receive Jesus as their personal Savior. The Bible says that Jesus is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. We believe that God wants us to do our best to tell others the gospel message.
We believe it is important for God's people to assemble together in worship of Him! In Hebrews 10:25, the Bible says, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." With each worship service, Bible study, and class, we want each attendee to grow in the Lord.
As an attendee, we want every person to experience and grow in their personal relationship with the Lord! God did not intend for His children to wait for their moment in heaven to arrive, but instead, we should be growing in the Lord and doing His will for our lives. We hope that you will consider being a part of one of the ministries at Dove Creek Baptist Church so that you can both grow in the Lord, and grow in your relationships with fellow-christians.
As christians, we believe that we should support God's ministry as best we can in all areas including giving. In Malachi 3:8 the Bible says, "And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord." We believe each christian should give their tithes to support the local assembly of God's people and should also give offerings cheerfully unto the Lord.
Another core value of Dove Creek Baptist Church is our passion for winning souls for the Lord! We want to see as many people that possibly can, receive Christ as their personal Savior, and we, as the church, are responsible for spreading the gospel! We reach out to our community, family, friends, co-workers, and loved ones by witnessing to them as best we can.
